Most of these items don't fit this game.  Why do we need a stop sign or a snow shovel as a melee weapon?  Why do we need a mini nuke launcher?

Axes are treated as tools even though they would make a better melee 

however, pickaxes are a tool. but I wish they'd let us effectively use axes as weapons

TFP has gained some Bethesda Fallout fans and are apparently fans themselves, some former mod authors. The Ushanka hat and "winter jacket" are suggested on another thread. Of course, those are Fallout 4 and 76 items and BGS is known for its wacky weapons. There are some similarities between the two's looter shooter mechanics, but 7DTD has its own postapocalyptic flavor/theme and it should stay that way, imo. Personally, I'd just play Fallouts 1-3 if I wanted to play Fallout. L4D if I wanted to wield a frying pan. Mod authors already have turned 7DTD into a riff on the Fallout universe and the modding scene is where player homages to other games belong, imo. 7DTD has its own nice and subtle homages to Fallout. "Sorry. I've never heard of a stim..pak?"  And that's enough.

A lot of it also comes down to Bethesda shooting themselves in the foot after failing to deliver content after they had a resurgence of players thanks to their show though.

i know on Xbox there was a MASSIVE shift of players when the new 7DTD came out. One of my friends even noted that many of the lobbies felt completely dead for at least 2 weeks after. 
 

My point is that many of us players are looking for a solid survival type game, and Fallout once again failed to deliver. 7 Days has their second chance for console players, as well as those that stuck around on PC. I just hope they don’t squander it like Bethesda did.

(Actually listening to the player base, not just streamers would be an excellent place to start.

As far as the massive list of weapons, I could see some of them getting in, with others being applicable skins for existing weapons.

Suggestion:

Add weapon skins that are unlocked through challenges, mission rewards, and collectibles found at various POI.

Various Glaive and Polearm skins could be applied to spear for example, and could be found perhaps by finding them at a museum. Same idea for Maces as Clubs and so on.
