Subject: A birthday wish and some suggestions for 7 Days to Die

Dear Fun Pimps Team,

I hope you're well.

My name is Linus, and today is my birthday. As a long-time fan of 7 Days to Die, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for what I consider to be the best game I've ever played. As a little birthday greeting, I'd like to share a few ideas that could make the game even better in the future—maybe even up to version 4.0!

Here are some suggestions I've been thinking about:

1. Highways – It would be exciting to see long highways connecting different areas of the map.

2. Larger cities and towns – Perhaps there could be large cities, small villages, and even underground tunnels along the highways.

3. Wind turbines – For generating electricity as a renewable energy source.

4. New weapons and explosives – More variety in combat would be great.

 5. New Vehicles – Including realistic helicopters, airplanes, and more car types.

6. New House Generation Logic – So that garages are logically assigned to their houses during world generation.

7. New Zombie Types – With different looks, different clothing, different accessories, and even irradiated versions.

8. New Traps – Creative ways to defend against the horde would be fun.

9. Realistic Nature – More immersive natural environments, similar to real life.

I know these are big ideas, but I would love to see them incorporated into future updates. I greatly admire your work and hope you continue to develop this incredible game for many more versions.

Thank you for your time, and again, thank you for 7 Days to Die!

Best regards,

Linus

Just some comments on this...

Highways might look nice and were an option at least from a separate map generator in part alphas.  But a highway isn't really much different from a road, so not sure it is worth them spending time adding that.

They aren't likely to make any towns larger than what are in the wasteland.  Really large towns cause performance problems for many players.  If you want large towns, you can always use a third party map generator like Teragon or hand craft your own map or just download one that was already made.

Wind turbines are nice, but stability causes problems if you don't want to have the blades be way too short.  ZZTong has one in his mod and just had the blades broken on the ground, which works... But you lose much of the look of the wind turbines that way.

They have said they aren't planning on more weapons or vehicles.  At least not before gold.  Those could possibly be added as a DLC later.  There are really only two things they have talked about maybe adding at some point (again, after gold at this point)... a raft if they decide to make water dangerous, and the plasma baton that has been in the files for a long time so that there is a third tier for batons.

POI are built as a single thing.  Whether or not there is a garage or where it is placed is entirely up to the person who made the POI.  They aren't generated separately and can't be moved around as part of generation.  The entire POI gets placed as a single thing.  To be clear, you could make tiles that have a spot for a house without a garage and a spot for a garage and then make a bunch of house only and garage only POI.  That would add variety in combinations, but you may have stuff that doesn't look good together.  Also, most POI with garage use the garage as part of the path you follow instead of being just a separate thing.  For example, tunnels between house and garage, boards to walk across between roofs, jumping between roofs, etc. You would lose that with such a set up.

They are already adding two new zombies and two now tiers of zombies.  Zombies already have different colored clothing and some even have different designs on it.  Most zombie types also already have radiated versions.

More traps would be nice, but are probably not happening before gold and maybe not after.

Realistic nature is a performance issue for many players.  They are already adjusting tree layouts to improve the look.  I don't think you will see much now than that in vanilla.  However, there are some mods available that provide that.  If you are able to run the game with them, go for it.  But depending on your computer, they may drop your FPS or cause textures to load only their low res versions.
