PC New Character Models?

I stopped playing for a hot minute, came back for Alpha 17. I actually really like it! The character models still look terrible though. Do they have any plans for making characters look better in the future? Is there a really cool mod I am missing out on?

 
I'd look more for beta for that to be done. It's a small non important thing. But I don't see them getting much better :p

That's going to take time.

I have to wonder just how much trouble the upgrade to Unity 2018 really was.

I imagine fixing the lighting issues first would be where they are headed but once that's done... who knows?

I can see them giving it a little love down the road.
