Hi all, this is I think the second or third time I have ever posted on the forums, but I thought I would compile a list of bugs and features I disagree with completely regarding Alpha 17.
I streamed some of the game over the weekend on my channel, had viewers and friends join me in game and some of the things i have encountered are either bugs or features that are bad for the game.
So first off the bugs I have encountered are as follows:
* Floating buildings with no supports, then everything falls apart making the game lag and drop frames to around 20FPS.
* E button which is the interact button gets stuck at times making it harder to drop things off in a chest as when I open it holds instead prompting me to either lock the chest or unlock it instead.
* a MASSIVE exploit i found as well is the concrete wedge or any wedge in general is that if you crouch down next to it if its at your height and then stand up, you are able to see right through the walls, any base and even interact with chests through it, and attack players through the wall.
* Zombies always seem to find you even if you are crouched away in the corner of some building and your stealth is at like 2 or something, i'm not sure if this is a bug, but i do believe that maybe the new stealth system isn't working as intended.
Ok so those are the bugs, not many, but some are pretty game breaking in a way and can be used to exploit a base someones server.
Now to the features i really dislike and think that needs to revert back to it's original state
* The debuffs, man oh man there is so many debuffs to the character it is unreal, 5 debuffs on average at any time i get often, i'm too cold, i'm too hot, i'm hungry, now i'm ill from eating, i died and cannot use the perks that i bought so i'm even more nerfed to hell, it's ridiculous and it needs to change, i can deal with everything else but to PUNISH the player for dying is incredibly excessive and should be taken away.
It's bad design when a game offers growth for your character but when you die it gets taken away from you.
* The perks tree, i don't know why it has changed so much, but i have a hate/love relationship with it, on one hand i think great it's bundled alot together to make it more streamlined and easier to build your character on, but on the other hand the old system wasn't exactly broken and worked well, so why the change?
It genuinely feels like the game is gearing more to an MMO feel in my opinion and that's not good.
* Driving mechanics, make the opposite setting default as opposed to using the mouse as a control method, it's horrible and feels unauthentic.
* The new looting system, no more looting corpses for goods after horde night because zombies RARELY drop any loot at all, and if they do it's in a backpack and with 20 zombies chewing at you swinging their arms like it's black friday it can get destroyed fairly quickly resulting in no loot at all.
Why was this changed? why have so many things been changed that weren't broken before? the loot system was fine, it's like we are punished for being alive at this point, my other question woulds be that before bloodmoon nights were fun and rewarding, but now they are not, so what is the point of the bloodmoon? you survive but can't loot the zombies for their gear so you losing out even more, it's not rewarding anymore, it becomes mundane to constantly go out, harvest things or salvage stuff and to die constantly, get debuffed and then to survive one of the biggest zombie invasions to only get nothing in return.
I haven't tested too much more outside of these issues and/or features yet, but i feel like i can't play it again because i continuously die from alot of factors like too much or too cold or the death debuff takes away your perks that you bought.
I will continue to test in the future but for now i feel dissauded from playing the game further, the limitations in this game is just too much, i agree on making the game challenging, i agree that before it was way too easy even on the hardest difficulty to get to end game items and tools etc, but this is way too harsh.
I hope this criticism is heard and is somewhat looked upon with open eyes, hopefully something may be done about it, i accept that not everyone may have the same opinion as me and i will totally respect that, but i hope that something can be done about the bugs and the features of the game to some extent.
