My biggest obstacle with this game

NOTE. THIS IS NOT A COMPLATE JUST A STATEMENT OF WHAT I PERSONALY FEEL STOPS ME FROM TRULY ENJOYING THIS GAME RIGHT KNOW.

my biggest obstacle of the game. Is their is no end goal. I as a player am not very good with out some kind of end goal. I like exploring the worlds of games, fighting tough beasts/foes and trying to survive. But I am not the type to do all that just to say I have. I NEED A REASON. I take on those beat this legendry hard to find let alone kill foes mission because there is a end goal a reason to go after them. I loved hunting the other mercs on the leader board is assassins creed odyssey because I got rewards for it or unlocks they had it be a quest. THEY GAVE ME A REASON WHY. I just can't try to survive 7 extra days just to say I survived 7 more days then last run. to get my point overwith. I believe that something this game needs to really be the game I would play for a long time it needs a end-goal and likely many along the way. it can keep the "thou must" part of these goal minor and let the player do there own thing for the most part. but giving players something to work towards would in my opinion something worth looking in to

From what I've heard, there are plans to add a story that will have some sort of end goal. Until then we as players have to set our own goals.

Why not setting you own targets, and simply stop playing once they are done? It's just like a end boss and after you killed him a question pops up "do you like to continue playing" and you click "no".

Reaching the top of dishong tower, imagine a helicopter would wait for you there and let you escape from the zombie island?

Find the Grace POI, kill the super boar, find super corn, because super corn is the cure! Maybe there is even some mod, that replaces the icon of supercorn and changes some texts so that it really looks like medicine?

If that is not suitable for you, basically every sandbox game is the wrong game for you. Because it is sandbox. And 7d2d currently is a sandbox game.

Basically you are the opposite of me. I can't handle story-based-games anymore, games that tell you what to do, when to do, where to do and in general have little to no option to do something creative.

could treat it like minecraft and use it make a sort of utopia base, or some really crazy awesome looking structures, your own town, something like that. but there's nothing wrong with just not being into sandboxes though.

It doesn't even have to be a main story line though I would love that. It could be a challange list. do set things like kill x number of zombie, do all the quest notes, find rare item X. just some goals with rewards for me to work towards while I play

ah cool can't wait for that

I also hope that it can have its own engine to develop better control and physical control. For now, its world is too small. We can only experience things within 8K back and forth, infinite maps, infinite possibilities , It’s very good to support hundreds of players to develop their own Utopia base online at the same time.

i totally agree, the only real obstacle to that is the fact that at the moment, the game is not terribly well optimized, its better than it was, its way better recently, but work still needs to be done. but i totally agree and would love infinite worlds, or functionally infinite worlds with some kind of chunk loading code like in minecraft.

i think a good way to do this is to take the grass objects that we punch for plant fiber and get rid of them, and make the topsoil that is grassy act as the new plant fiber source, where you punch it once and get some fibers and it reverts to normal dirt, i think the deletion of these grass objects to be replaced by something pre-existing and re-coded to drop plant fibers would represent a massive drop in computational load for servers.

Yes, the current optimization is a bit unsatisfactory. Generally speaking, it does not have very good scalability. All data is read in the memory to make it bloated. I hope that it can be accessed at any time by reading the switch like more games. Use it instead of loading it all into the computer memory! In this way, even the expansion of 10G or more models will not cause the game to have higher requirements for computer operation. Players like to join in the fun. Once a game has more people, no matter whether it is your favorite type or not, it will swarm, based on 7daystodie Features, I think as long as someone can contact and play is addictive, we still look forward to infinite maps, even the layered world is very good, you can use the principle of layering to make some more interesting levels, than the current native POI building levels are much better

I totally agree. This game really needs some goals beyond the 7 day horde nights.

Fortunately I believe this is the end goal of the developers. I'm pretty sure it has been stated that once they polish up all the basic gameplay elements some kind of faction questing and boss type enemies will be put into the game.

They have to get the foundation set before they can paint the house.
