Windows My 1.3 game is gone

Why Is my 1.3 game saves and game gone? I have over a week of play in it.

Can I get a beta code to continue playing in 1.3? I only play single player I do not need and servers to be running.

Is this a game intended to play or try and move on?

OK i got 1.4 running my saves. Can anyone tell me if 1.4 will be removed at some time, or will it be around long enough to actually play for a while. Seems A21 is still playable so far in the beta dialog.

I'm not sure why 1.3 was removed, probably to make room for 1.4 since 1.4 was the last release in 1.0. I suspect it will remain in Steam and won't go away.

So far they have kept the last point version for each alpha in the Betas dropdown, going back to A8. I think you'll be safe for a while, but that said, I keep a copy archived of any version I feel is important to have.

I keep copies of my saves whenever I quit., but that's about it. Although good advice, just in case.

If you backup the 7 Days to Die folder in Steam\common game directory then blocking steam from the internet with a firewall exception, you may be able to play offline. But as it would figure, it will more than likely find a way to update eventually. Probably when you are looking forward to playing too much.

Getting rid of betas has made me want to play a lot less and oddly enough I was going to post a thread about how awesome the game is. But after the town hall thing and getting rid of a beta just like that I am glad I did not.

If you copy the steam install to some location outside the steam folder then steam won't touch it, no need to block steam. It will update the version in the install folder but your copy will remain. You just have to run the game from the exe in that folder.

They don't get rid of betas, they just remove them from the dropdown. You can still install past betas, including almost all the point versions, using the steam console. They have said there are limits to how many can be in the list.

I did not know this. This is good news, thank you.

I have Acronis TrueImage backing up the 7 days to die folder every day at 8:00AM now.
