More uses for less useful items

Simple. More uses for items that mostly have 1 usage 

Synthetic fiber/millitary fiber: a few armors (Nomad, wasteland assassin and maybe the armor plates/branded armor. And maybe any future armor/mods 

Testosterone extract: to make a better first aid kit or maybe other drugs/meds/drinks 

Adrenaline shots, something. 

Fat: Make fuel from it and able to make oil with it. Takes awhile tho. 

Super corn: able to make more fuel, extra glue. Ik you can craft it into glue but maybe without the water

Corn meal: able to make fuel, and able to make more alcohol types

-Grain alcohol: most made with corn meal, and can make stronger first aid kits

-Grandpas Blueberry moonshine: buffs your hp and makes you extra drunk. 

-Vodka: potatoes and corn meal. Buffs melee and melee attack speed. 

Money: able to buy stuff in vending machines. Or stay as is.. or scrap it

Brass: instead of copper in the game we uses brass. Used to craft electrical stuff. Can uses it to craft electrical and mechanical parts, and item mods 

Lead: able to uses to craft electrical parts, and mechanical parts, battery's 

Weapon/tool parts: able to craft repair kits. Makes them harder to make

Hops: able to craft more beer types with more buffs. 

Hi power rounds: a small buff too them that makes them deal much more damage? Limb damage and just more useful. Cuz most people uses normal or AP. 

Darts:  remove them and turn the dart launcher into the nail launcher. It uses nails instead. 

Demo shotgun rounds: turn into frag rounds! They deal spash damage.  

C4: does more damage... that's it.

I have wondered why vending machines take dukes.  Doesn't make sense, does it?  Did The Duke have all the vending machines refitted to accept casino tokens after the zombie apocalypse?  Not that I'm advocating having to carry around an additional stack of money types.  It'd just be frustrating to not be able to find bills early game when you most need to use vending machines to buy food.

I've been wanting to make (or find) a mod that basically makes every vending machine in the wilderness to accept only old cash. These machines would never restock. The machines within the trader compounds, however, will still take dukes and do respawn. Modding the vending machine to take cash and not restock is easy. The problem is I don't think this is possible without modifying the trader compounds to have a *different* vending machine that still takes dukes. They are all the same block currently.

 
That would definitely be a difficult mod.  You'd need to mod the current vending machine, duplicate the block for another vending machine, then update all the Trader POIs with the new block.

And since everything that exists right now just refers to 'economic value', which is in dukes, which is a special item in the monetary system used for all purchases, and old money is... just an item... blech.

But it would be cool.

My old trader mod for A21 did some of that.  I had different vending machines for different restock times.  I can see if I can update it to do what you are looking for.

Ether that or just remove the money and murge the icon with the paper icon. 

Kinda like how metal has little bolts, iron bars and stuff.

The paper icon could be a peice of paper.  A bill and maybe a old book

So I checked and most of it I can do except accepting only the old money.  That would require rewriting the economy (as mentioned by stample).  I am sure if I was motivated enough I could do that, but that would be a huge overhaul and personally, I don't see the value (pun intended) in creating a separate economy variable just for old vending machines in the wild  😁

I got to clean it up and make sure everything still works as intended, but my mod did have custom vending blocks for traders (they look the same) so I could make them restockable by the traders, but the ones out in the POIs would eventually run out of items to sell if you buy from them.

I also believed I made a lot of comments in the mod files so players can tweak it if they desire.  Not sure if I will have something to release this weekend but I should be able to release it next week at the latest (prior weekend commitments - the wife won't accept Working on a mod)  😄

That's why money should get removed personally and add the icon to the paper. Icon. 

It has really no uses aside from Selling and world building
