The mod is part of the PROJECT Z modpack. You can find all the information with a description of the project mods on the website or on the Discord server.

A little background. I am confused that now in the game there are hammers and nail guns of different quality, but in fact their difference is only in the durability of the tool itself and the desire to create and look for, say, a hammer of tier 6 - there is none.
I decided to correct the situation a little and add a new attribute for the tool - Experience for construction. Thus, the bonus to experience for a tool of quality 1 is 0 and for level 6 (depends on the type of the tool itself). Receives the following:
Stone axe - 3,6,9,12,20%
Hammer - 4,8,12,16,30%
Nail gun - 5,10,15,20,40%

You can download all the mods here

Enjoy the game everyone!

I agree that there's little reason in vanilla to upgrade those tools.  But I'll just point out that there is one additional attribute for Q6 - one more range.  That can be useful when building tall bases.  But it still doesn't give you any reason to craft a hammer or nail gun that is Q2-Q5.  Not unless you feel like using them as weapons for some odd reason.  Heh.  The experience bonus is an interesting idea.  I don't know that I'd apply it to the stone axe, though... not unless you're able to limit it to only upgrades (right click) and not other uses (left click).  And without testing, I don't know if this increases building XP by too much.  Still, it is an interesting idea.

An alternative option (if you wanted to consider alternatives) would be to adjust the number of "hits" to upgrade, if that's possible.  For example, frame to wood could be 1 hit with Q1-6 nail gun, 2 with Q1-6 hammer, 3 with Q1-6 stone axe as it is now (or perhaps even add more hits for lower quality stone axes).  Wood to cobble might be 1 hit with Q1-6 nail gun, 2 with Q4-6 hammer, 3 with Q1-3 hammer, 4 hits with Q4-6 stone axe, 5 hits with Q1-3 stone axe.  And so on.  You'd need to adjust number of hits by quality and item to something that makes sense (these are just quick numbers thrown in).  Maybe upgrading to steel is only 1 hit with Q5-6 nail gun and more with everything else, for example.  It still might not give you the full range of quality levels for each tool, but it would increase the value of some of them.  Of course, many people would hate that it takes more hits than it currently does, so it might not be appreciated by players the way an XP bonus would.  :)
