Windows missing files

so my 7 days to die copy seems to be missing files (steam). i have verified the file integrity more than a dozen times as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the game. last week i had 17052 files, but now i have 16986 and im thoroughly confused. gameplay itself still goes fine but i cant seem to join or host games like i was able to last week

If you updated the game, your number of files would change and can even reduce. If the verifying doesn't show an issue, then there isn't an issue with the number of files. Your log will almost always show the problem, which is why it's asked that you post a log when asking for help. Make sure the log is from a time when you try to join or host a game and were unable to do so. More details about what exactly isn't working would also help people to help you. You haven't really told us anything useful. Just that you can't join or host a game, which could be all kinds of reasons.
