Lost power - character died and lost everything

SO I was on day 112 and having a blast.  Then I lost power and when I got back in the game my character had died - not unexpected.  But when I "woke up" I was back to a starting character with all the starting quests...make plant fiber clothes and everything.  I lost all my stats but I am still on day 112 and all my items are in my base.  But my backpack and my dead body are nowhere to be found on the map.  Any way to get back all my stats??

I assume it is a local single player game:

1) Find save game location (with help of launcher for example, or read pinned threads here in this forum section)

2) Find "Players" directory in your current save game and make a backup of it

3) If there is only one EOS_*.ttp file delete it and rename EOS_*.ttp.bak to EOS_*.ttp (* being some cryptic number you should not change), then start game

4) If you find TWO EOS_*.ttp files with different numbers in that directory try to switch them (together with the .map files) instead. Start the game

5) If this doesn't work, bite the bullet and use F1 plus the "giveselfxp" command to recreate your old character and the creative menue (turned on with "cm") to get back the items and books you lost through this.

I had a similar issue the other day, and I've had it before, but this time I forgot to create a back up folder because I just started playing again.

I have a dedicated server running on my PC and we lost power for a moment and I think it corrupted some of the server world files.    This happened before but the world wouldnt even load, but this time it loaded but the trees were missing, the terrain texture was like flat grey, and my character seemed to be reset.   I assumed it has something to do with the server not saving correctly.   I havent found a fix other than to make sure I back up the world and character files incase the power goes out.

So I ended up starting a new game and just used the console to increase my level to the same level I was and spawned in some of the items I know I had.   I wasn't trying to cheat, I was just trying to resume where I was prior to the crash.  Unfortunately, the base was obviously lost so like I said, I just tried to spawn in some items to "resume" the game that crashed.

It kinda sucks, but its better than starting at level 1 again.
