I am on playstation5.
I am on a dedicated ubuntu server hp proliant dl260p gen8. I just changed out the processor from a 2.0ghz model to a 3.5ghz model. It has 26gigs of memory and i am working to replace that with the fastest kind the hardware supports. I am running two 300gb sas droves in mirrored configuration and i will be replacing those with a raid 7 or whatever you call it
I was playing with a friend and things started to lag. I had to force quit as i fell through the world. As did my friend.
From what i am told the drone adds a certain amount of lag when flying gyro copter.
I spawned back in and it took a bit to get the gyrocopter and it appeared upside down. No drone though and i searched the whole area.
I am not able to see any coordinate references for the drone in any file.
I tried deleting drone.dat and drone.dat.bak no change.
I turned on telnet and tried running junkDrone clear cobra_shipwreck and every variant therein with no change.
There are a few dofferent ways to fix this requiring game updates: Set intellect mastery 4 and 5 together and make intellect mastery 4 a trait to control a drone and without it your drone automatically goes to inventory and anything in it goes to a bag at your feet ornis lost
Set the junkDrone clear command to be a but more aggresive and generic say add an all command that wipes all drones if not in inventory
Set drone to behave like gyrocopter and show on map and when near if you cant get inside of a couple of minutes have a popup
Saying returning to inventory due to no player response.
The other option is to have the coordinates logged in drone.dat at the too in human readable text and have an option to display coordinates on psn/xbox.
There is not a simple programatic fix i think.
The core cause appears to be rendering lag. So the other option os to figure out how to stop infinite fall when one clips through the unremdered map. Only option to fix that is if o es elevation keeps dropping have game default to move player 5 blocks above the average height of the surrounding they are in once it renders.
I do a little coding and programming for props and costumes and i know how infiriating it is to have these random rare bugs come up. And you cant trace it down succinctly.
PlayStation does not have log files but i can attach any files needed for a proper bug report
