Later-game crafting sinks for specialized materials like tool and gun parts?

As the title says, I'm wondering if there's any good ideas which create alternate uses for specialized non-craftable parts for the late game? Gun parts do have some sinks, especially if you add additional weapons packs, but tool parts could really use some additional purposes.

Ideas?
