the badges are ok addition tho they should remove the need to kill mobs to get it as the spitter and frost trolls spawn rates are masivly high i had a mod that reduced them by 80% and they still spawned at like 3 -1 on normal mobs its insane there not spec mobs there the main ones now or at least set there spawn rate to a more basic number

storms however ( and i know we can turn them off) are stupid as they are ohhh no theres a storm lets get in a building and be board for 7 min 0.o they would make more sence if when a storm comes they dont do damage but reduce visability (like a fog) and increase spawn rates making it hectic and fun hardly able to see with mobs coming from every where

we could all so do with a way to make solar cells ...i mean we can make a gyrocopter but a solar cell is to hard lol

but all in all as allways love the game have had it since before it was even released way back on early kickstarter a long road but worth every second :)

You don't have to do that, though. You can go underground and mine. You can go inside the nearest POI and be met with POI zombies whether you planned on that or not. You can go into your base, if near, and do some crafting and/or thinking about your avatar's future (planning out points to spend; preparing for a run into a nearby town, etc.) It's condusive to emergent gameplay, in other words, that doesn't necessarily include zombie slaying.

I hear they're debating whether or not storms should cause the player damage. My question would be: why wouldn't they? They're storms. Do you go outside and play during a thunderstorm? Hope you have your rubber suit and boots on, else the lightning strike might kill you.

Funnily enough, I set out to say Hi to Jenny, maybe run a couple of errands for her. A pleasant trip, until I finally came upon Jen's compound. It started storming and when I got into the compound, I heard a mini horde banging on the side gate, then saw one had made it inside and I'm thinking, "How? Aren't these compounds supposed to be safe zones?" (Unless you leave the gate open, of course.) Looked overto the main gate and saw a bunch of zombies standing on top of one another. Three more made it over the fence. So, now I was in a storm in a "safe zone" battling zombies that had crawled over the top of each other and the fence along with a couple of screamers out of nowhere because I certainly wasn't using a ballistic weapon. I died for the first time in a long time...in a safe zone. So, as long it's random, perhaps even rare and not every time, your zombie horde riding in on the fog is a pretty good idea.
