Hello, I just have a simple question is all... though I need to know because I'm not sure whether I'll have to restart my world or not. Do items in containers spawn upon world generation or are they rolled as you open them? I need to know because I am putting a mod on that changes mod slots and I want the effect to apply to anything looted but I know that containers that haven't been looted wont respawn loot, but I dont know if they technically already have stuff in them before being opened or not.

my thought is that containers are populated upon opening since loot tables use players gamestage to determine loot rolls.

hopefully someone who knows with certainty will come along before you have to decide.

The loot is rolled when the player opens the container because it's based on the players gamestage and other attribute factors.
