is this a bug or how the game works

alpha 17.

i chose to level up under intelligence basic crafting

under intelligence there was a green checkmark cus i bought it with point

craft iron tools

i used the skills this unlocked, made many iron shovels pic axes fireaxes etc

now the skill says 0/5 and the zero is red, the checkmark under intelligence that unlocked it is a red checkmark

so how did i lose a skill i paid a point for?

is this temp? i fully healed and ti's still red and unusable skill, i can no longer craft iron tools regardles of the fact i spent points to unlock this.

is it a bug?

also how do i use the games command consol to put a point to unlock forge iron tools which somehow changed from a 1 to a red zero. since i already bought the perk it wont let me buy it again. It's greyed out.

 
Did you die? You might have had a temporary penalty active for death. There may be other negative buffs, but death is only thing I can think of at the moment that affects intellect.

 
An actual tutorial mode would be nice now since every few years TFP change major core mechanics xD, the only thing close to it is that basic survival guide quest thing; only use that is for is a few free skill points and finding a nearby trader location.
