Is there a better light option than the spotlight?

You can see the candles and torches very far away, but the simple light and spotlights don't throw very far. The street lights used to cast light a much further distance.

Is there any light in a17.xx that casts light further away than the spotlight?

I havent seen any in vanilla and I agree the streetlight seems to be poor now in A17, I know in the HDHQ Item Modlet Dust2Death did make a new spotlight and Torch that cast light further although I have only seen light cast out from the player point of view never really noticed from the other view.
