Is it possible to edit a file to fix my bug?

I have the bug where if you log off on a vehicle, in my case a bicycle, you log back in to the screen of death and the game shuts down before you respawn. No matter how many times I attempt to log in it's the same result. I'm wondering if there's anything in that save game file that I can edit to remove the bicycle and maybe that would allow me to log in normally.

I have no mods and I don't play around with editing files but I'd like to keep this save and if anyone can help I would appreciate it. If this is the wrong place to ask I apologize and the Moderator can delete or move.

Try deleting vehicles.dat and vehicles.dat.bak

Might take care of the issue.

I dragged those 2 files to my desktop and started the game. I had the same issue. Then I started the game again and did what daos did in his game, hit F1 and typed tp 0 0 0. That gave me the option to respawn on my bedroll. I do have the death penalty though. I hope this bug gets fixed. Thanks for your help.
