Hi, I’ve read the pinned FAQ and the “read before posting” thread.
I’m not a native English speaker, so apologies in advance for any mistakes or missing details.
We’re seeing intermittent disconnects for one specific player on our dedicated server. It only happens in 7 Days to Die; the same player can play other Steam games with us on the same hardware/network without issues. At the exact time of the disconnect, all other players stayed connected—only this player was affected.
Game: 7 Days to Die v2.2
Server OS: [Windows/Linux version], Dedicated
Crossplay: [ON/OFF]; platform.cfg → platform=Steam, serverplatforms=Steam
Affected player is on a virtual LAN/VPN; others on VPN were fine
Server log (same incident):
2025-08-11 00:52:34 [Steamworks.NET] Authentication callback … result: k_EAuthSessionResponseAuthTicketCanceled
2025-08-11 00:52:34 Kick player for invalid login: [SteamID-REDACTED] [PlayerA]
2025-08-11 00:52:34 [Auth] PlatformAuth authorization failed … (AuthTicketCanceled)
2025-08-11 00:52:35 NET: LiteNetLib: Client disconnect … (DisconnectPeerCalled)
Client log from the same player/time window (sanitized):
2025-08-11 00:55:06 INF Disconnect
2025-08-11 00:55:06 INF [EOS-ACC] Disconnected from game server
2025-08-11 00:55:07 INF SaveAndCleanupWorld
(A couple of minutes later the same player reconnects and passes all checks: Steam auth OK → allowed to enter game.)
Are there known conditions in 7DTD where Steam returns AuthTicketCanceled mid join/auth, and is there a server‐side grace/retry option?
Any recommended server settings to reduce false kicks or we could test, check in order to prevernt this situation?
Sorry, I forgot to add: we were all connected to Discord (DC) voice during the session and he never disconnected there, so we don’t think this was a general internet drop on his side.
Thanks for helps
