Windows I'm having Crossplay compatibility issues (PC and PS5). Server connection keeps failing.

My friend recently got the game for PC. I play on ps5 and have a world i wanted her to join but she cannot find and join it.
Made checked off the main potential issues i've read about so far.
EAC and Crossplay are turned on, on both our end. I think both our games are up to date (PC is at 2.5 (b23) and PS5 is 2.5 (b25) and we don't use mods. We also tried finding the server using the IP and port address but the server connection always fails. We have eachother on discord but we cannot find a way to invite eachother to a game.
No matter who's world we try joining it's just not working out. I'm not very computer savvy so if there's anything i could do to solve this problem some advice would be very appreciated

Did you open the port in your firewall if present? And did you forward the port in your router?
if i'm being honest i'm pretty new to all this stuff so do you think you could explain by going into more detail on how to forward the port in my router? along with opening the port in my firewall

The pinned topic has the information here. It says it's about dedicated servers, but the port forwarding info is still accurate. The info is at the bottom of the post that the link takes you to.

I might suggest trying to have them host once and see if you can join so you can see if it's just you hosting that's the problem or not. I don't use consoles, but I believe that to join a console host, you need to search for the profile name of the host to find the game. Have you tried that?

yes i initially had her try to join my world (on ps5) and we tried by typing the profile name and server name separately. when that didn't work i had her host (pc) and we did the same thing.
I looked at that thread that u linked but if i'm trying to host on ps5 is port forwarding/ creating a dedicated server still necessary?

If you are using any kind of router, then yes. Routers and firewalls block ports and need to have them forwarded to use them properly.
