zombies in the rear while they're getting up. That usually finishes them off.

Not sure what that says about me. Nothing good.

 
Shooting? I find that a little impersonal. Try your bat for a little added insult... :)

I'm going to do a melee build and I am looking forward to using a baseball bat. I'm going for the head though

 
Good head works too, just a tad harder to catch both cheeks at once..

In actuality though, you'll find that you don't really need to go for the head, esp on the weaker zeds; once downed, they'll die in the same time with body shots. Especially if you account for the misses and the inevitable throwing away of the 3 clay you ended up gathering ... :)
