I can't create a character nor enter a world

Hi, yesterday I tried joining a friend's modded server and it keeps giving me the following errors:

ERR [XUi] Error while updating window group 'optionsProfiles':
EXC Index was outside the bounds of the array.


Before downloading the mods I could create a character and run the game just fine either singleplayer or multiplayer. Now, after downloading the mods, I can't play in a vanilla world nor create a character without the game giving me the aforementioned error. I tried the following:
  • Deleting game data from the 7daysLauncher
  • Deleting and reinstalling the game from steam
  • Deleting the steam common folder
  • Deleting the %appdata folder
  • Deleting all 7 days entrances in Regedit
  • Running the game in the stable build Alpha 20.7 vanilla, I can't create a character and play the game in that version neither
  • Disabling Anticheat
  • Verify game files via steam
The only thing I have not tried is formating my PC.

Friend's server mod list:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

RAM: 16GB 3000Mhz

I really hope someone can help me

TL;DR: I downloaded mods and now I can't even play the vanilla game



 
So.. the game only stores data in the main game folder, in %appdata%/7daystodie and the registry... something may have been missed. Can you post a log file to pastebin or something similar?

What in the world. 

Can you try deleting the entire registry entry for 7 Days to Die? Like, delete the folder. Then try checking all the things in the launcher tool in the clean game data section (you can use the tool to open the registry, sound like you know how to do that anyway)

The same thing that I am thinking, its like installing those mods corrupted my PC haha

Glad it's working! I'm sorry about that, that's a kinda above rare but not common issue that's just baffling why/how it's going on, but hopefully we can get a fix for that. Have fun and thanks for reporting back that it works now!
