How to turn god mode OFF?

This morning, out of the blue, I see the little purple cross and the word GOD in the lower left corner. Somehow, god mode has been turned on, and I cannot get it to turn off. I have the letter Q bound to god mode, but pressing it does nothing.

How do you turn God mode off?

Why, oh why, does the key binding not work? I had to do this in console to get rid of god mode.

If you log off with God mode on, it will be on next time you log on. You'll have to get back into debug mode and hit the god mode key a couple times to remove it.
