How to Modify Save Files?

I fell off the map and now my save game won't initialise. How do I modify my save to reset the player coordinates? I need help with this because I really cannot go through the grind again after doing it so many times.

I'm not sure this is going to work. So just fair warning.

In the past (A15) I had this happen a lot. I was able to fix it most of the time, by doing the following:

1. Backup your character, and then delete it from the savegame folder.

2. Start the game with a new character, and you should spawn in.

3. Exit the game again, and reverse the above (delete new character, copy over backup).

With any luck, you are now able to spawn in your old character, without issues. Maybe...
