How to Climb a Tree

I was chopping one down next to a wall, and I was pushing up against it as it fell, and then I was able to climb up the falling tree and fell down on the wall when it vanished.

Yep. The tree is solid until it disappears. It can be "climbed" like that and it will also stop falling if it lands on something.
 
Oh yeah, tress are definitely still solid until they land. Fun fact: if you time it just right, you can also kill (lower level) zombies with a falling tree. Trees always fall away from you on the last swing, so after getting the health down just make sure to position yourself on the opposite side from the zombie and give it one last whack. I believe you still get the XP for the kill (maybe?). If not, it's still fun to do.

Yes, you can kill a zombie this way. I even managed to do it. But hitting it is a bit of a problem. Out of 5 attempts I only hit it once.
