How to change character

I generally play on a private server.  With the update I picked a female just trying to get into the server to see what was going on with the update.  Now I am unable to create a male character and join the private server.  Everytime I join I join as the female.

How do I change my character on a private server?

Turn persistent player profiles off in the server config and you'll be good to go (you'll need to reboot the server)
