PC How long with 7 Days to Die be in Alpha state?

This game is great and I come back to it every now and then and really enjoy the updates and new features.  I think I started shortly before Alpha 8, somewhere just before random world gen existed.  I come back almost every other alpha and play another full game or two.

I'm wondering when Alpha will become Beta, or Beta becomes version 1.0.0?  I think my last real play through was Alpha 17.
