PC How do you get to Departure/Dishong tower?

I see people going there and climbing the tower, yet when i go down there it all in a radiation zone. Am i missing something?

It would be interesting to have POI's buried out in the dead zone that are safe points. If you can find a way to them you can loot them. Of course you might have to fight a few uber zombies while you're there...

i read somewhere that whit 600 hazmat and 100 armor skill you could survive in the rad zone at least for a while

I read somewhere that you could disable and collect land mines with a wrench, too.

I read that if you strip off all your armor and drop your weapons to make yourself non threatening that you can turn zombies into pets by throwing enough sham sandwiches at them.

I read that you can throw turds to distract zombies. Might not work now with Smell not working properly.

Got the results, and they are "interesting"

(Game is modded but not topicrelated)

When you have 100 Armor skill and such a equipment you take zero damage in the Radiated zone

But your Armor take so fast damage that this hold only for 30 Seconds or so, then the damage raise fast

Made one more test, as you can see only 3 Items get damage.

I went into the Radiated biome and let the Radiation destroy the 3 Armorparts.

Then i took a mountain of Painkillers and Healing Bandages. (The amount raise the duration)

WIth 30% bonus from my Medicince skill they slowed the damage so far down that it took 1 Minute and 5 Seconds to loose 50 Healthpoints

The 3 items that took damage seem to indicate that only the torso area takes radiation damage. This suggests that if you brought a few Hazmat Jackets and some repair materials you could survive for longer by swapping and repairing them.
