How do i modify Traders

I'm interested in modding traders. Sort of like darkness falls with destructible traders and mercs maybe? Or changing certain items inside their perimeter to be destructible? For example, there is a trader POI in the compo pack that has a bunch of loot boxes you can't open. I have a few ideas but just need to know where to start. I've never modded anything before so, there's that lol

Block protection is part of the POI, so it won't be in the XML.  You would have to mod the POI, then replace the vanilla one before generating the map.  And afaik, block protection is "whole POI" not selectable areas or items.

Sorry, I can't be much more help.  I've never built or modified any POI using the new POI editor.
