PC How can I set Enemy Spawning level in A16exp?

In A15 we've had that wonderful Enemy Spawning setting, which allowed us to set how many zeds (and animals, I suppose) would spawn in the world in general. You could set it to Very High and had a lot of fun.

Now in A16exp we still have the Enemy Spawning setting, but now it has only 2 options - On or Off.

So how can I increase/decrease the general enemy spawn count in A16exp (if only it's possible anymore)?

Going to take a guess and say that its possible by extensive editing of the XMLs, why its not an option anymore is beyond me.

If we're talking a17 experimental...

You may be able to do it by adjusting the values of the sleeper volumes (I think that's in spawning.xml). Just a guess, I've not attempted this but I've been looking at the files with the same aim in mind.

Spawns are strictly tied to POIs now, I don't think you can change that.
It can be done.

Great, more options and customisation lost. :/
Not true.

Open the spawning.xml to adjust the biome spawns (towards the top of the .xml file)

Open the gamestages.xml along with the prefab.xml in the prefab folder to adjust the poi spawns for any prefab you want.

You also can still make your own group list and so on..

So instead of a simple menu option that we used to have we get to edit mutliple .xml files, certainly sounds like an option was lost to me.

Whatever makes your life complete. You have fun twisting yourself into knots of your own making..->Some new setting being thought about and coming..<-

Yeah, they are obviously never thinking about adding settings at some point..
Additionally we have a great modding community. Why not request the changes you want so at least for now you can play your preferred way without having to mod the files yourself? Setting it up is easy enough on your end.

Agreed

The Modding community here are a bunch of really nice folks.

So long as you're polite and courteous, you'll find help.

I didn't know a thing about editing XML's until I came here.

Found plenty of helpful people willing to show me.

You don't have to.

Play the game the way it's made and stop complaining. MadMole has said in the past that he wants lots of options for the finished game. Other developers have pointed out that too many options during development hinders balancing.

We've tried to help, you haven't accepted that help. So your options are:

1. Mod.

2. Play.

3. Stop playing.

Telling me to stop complaining about missing options serves nobody, same as telling me to mod or stop playing the game.

The bloody hell is the point in early acess if users cant turn around to the developers and go 'we would like this option back' without a bunch of fanboys jumping in to defend them.

Remove your head from your backside, sir.

I spoke up because people are trying to help you and you've dismissed them, rather rudely. I am not denying you your right to your opinion or to give feedback.

The gamestage is simply so complex that a simple "option" will need some serious work.

You can can hope for that later.... like version 1.1 upwards

Id disagree with that, an option like that should be a much higher prority and not something to be pushed back until after release. And the thing is it really isnt that complex at all, it was just added in a way with no thourght put in before hand about a way to make it optinal, same as forced craft/loot timers, same as the harvest system.
