Built a house with three floors and came back from scavenging when we noticed that half the house was gone. Tried rebooting game and still did not fix. Out supplies were all gone along with our forge. A lot of gaming hours to farm and all supplies were gone. Would be nice to add self saves so we could reload from a check point.

 
It sounds like you've been hit by an MD5 error. Unfortunately, there is no getting your stuff back but there are things you can do to try and protect yourself from future issues. I would also recommend posting a bug report in the appropriate section as the more information the team have, the more they can do to fix this.
