I just wanted to see if there were others with similar problems as myself or if anyone had any suggestions. So with A18 I have a 2080 Rtx card that will hit about 80 c after playing for 20 to 30 minutes. Not normally to bad, but then my graphics card fans kick on and it sounds like it’s a jet engine about to fly away and it can’t seem to cool enough to stop. As soon as I turn off the game, the gpu drops to 60 c instantaneously and then cools down from there. I have tried locking my FPS at 72 but it still gets really hot. I tried turning down the graphics to high (they are on ultra) but had no luck, I suppose I could try medium. It didn’t have an issue with A17 and I tried other games and it barely gets over 60, so something is awry.

Poor case airflow will do that. Maybe next time think about that before wasting money on glass panels / lack of fans.
Even with my max overclock settings, I've never been able to get any of my hardware to reach past 60C even during benchmarking.

Does not help this but A16 was the only game to fry my GTX 690, it froze the screen with graphics glitches galore and I had to reboot and I thought I had permanent damage, then again my ambient temps were 90F at the time and not much airflow to my computer room, so that did not help.
If you use headphones that will help with the noise it's also the best way to play a game like this in my opinion. You can get a better idea where zombies are if you have decent positional headphones.
As fox says, good airflow through your case is always a good rule if you use case fans and do not have water cooling, or I guess water cooling on you CPU and not enough airflow with your case fans for your GPU. I go crazy with case fans but my place is always at at least 80F and a swamp cooler to try and cool the entire house does not work well.

Played with the settings, seemed changing setting to medium it’s running well. I am slowly changing some settings higher to see what kind of impact it has. Turning textures onto full made it go jet engine again so I turned them down to half for now. I will see about adding more fans. My case isn’t designed for to many, so I don’t know if there is a way to modify it to accommodate more or if I should just buy a new case that can have more fans. Thanks for the feedback.

Well I do not know how good of an idea this would be but I have cut holes in my windows before to add a fan to blow right on the video card but it is not easy to do on a thin piece of plexiglass or whatever your window is assuming you have a window and not a solid aluminum or plastic panel. You just need a hole saw for 80mm or 120mm although 80mm is best, also a cheap fan filter.
This was a lot harder to do than it looks, you can see the top fan filter was for the Memory and the 2 bottom ones for the video card https://i.imgur.com/eQp3zus.jpg. This is probably not a terribly good idea but I was getting creative with case back in 2008 or so.

Of course you would need a couple of 3 pin or 4 pin motherboard fan headers or a couple of 4 pin molex to 3pin adapters or a molex 4 pin fan, the molex being the horrible 4 pin power supply cables, you should have plenty of them if you have a lot of sata drives and just use sata cables. I like swapping molex to 3 pin, hide the 4 pin and route the 3 pin through the as they are not as massive as the molex plugs or use fan controller or hub. You will then have to unplug the fans when you open the case as well.

I'm sorry but 80c is not "Running hot"
in fact, without stellar cooling systems its a pretty common under load temp for an RTX 2080. go look up some temp benchmarks for that card and you'll see its common to hit 85-87c even under load with that card. as well as other high end cards. if its not overheating or reaching Throttle temps why are you even worried?
and if you don't want your fans kicking to max. play with your fan curves and see where you can set it until its tolerable with both noise & cools reasonably.

Radeon RX 580 running just fine. No fan noise on my end, just RWG issues. I am running everything maxed minus reflections/reflected shadows and water set to low. I personally don't like how shiny reflections make everything especially at dusk and sunrise. It just looks out of place.

So I played around with it a bit more and turned off Anisotropic filtering in the Nvidia control panel and it seemed to fix the issue in case there are others that are having similar issues. I was able to turn all the settings back to ultra and left vsync at half and get a steady 72 frames a second. Gets to around 70c and the fans are not ear piercing loud anymore (was getting over 4300 rpm's). I agree that 80c is not hot but my video card begged to differ as it seemed to want to blast off into space anytime it hit 80. I suppose there are settings I could adjust in MSI afterburner, but I don't think thats really within the scope of these forums.
