Getting a prefab to spawn with RWG

I've got a small collection of POIs that players have made and I've saved out of game worlds over the past few years. In the past, I've been able to get them to show up in worlds created by the RWG. But for the past few versions, I haven't been able to get it to work, even just trying to have them show up in the wilderness to avoid city size requirements.
I've opened them in the toolset and set them to have the wilderness prefab property and made sure they had an imposter. I can't figure out what I'm missing to get the generator to pick them up. I've tried leaving them in the user location, putting them in a folder in mods and even in the main prefab folder. Even though the toolset can see them, the RWG apparently can't.

It would be great if a knowledgeable person could post and maybe sticky for the current game version with a set of requirements or how-to guide to get this to work. The information I've been able to find is a hodge-podge and largely pretty out of date.

There's two major areas that have to work. First, the POI has to be setup in the Prefab Editor such that RWG will know what to do with it. Second, when put into a modlet, the modlet has to be setup correctly and put into the right place. I wouldn't put them in the game's prefab folder, but since you did and it still didn't work there must be some setting in the POI that isn't right.

A classic problem with player-made POIs pulled from games is they contain player-only blocks (like turrets and electricity), but I don't think that keeps the POI from being placed. I thought that just led to missing blocks.

I'd be happy to take a look at what you've got if you can find a way to make them available to me.

Thanks for the offer. I'm not sure what I did different this time that made a difference. I moved them all into a sub directory in my AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\LocalPrefabs directory and resaved the prefab properties verifying wilderness checked. I also made sure I'd deleted copies in other places. One more try before packing them up to try to figure out how to share it, and it started working.
I also found missing blocks in some of the older ones that may have been keeping them from showing up. Some date back to A17 so I've fixed missing blocks before, but I think these were old player storage from pre v1.

It's a lot of fun coming across an old build randomly in a new game. It's also rewarding to know that something you put many hours into designing and building has a least a bit more permanence than a sand castle.

I'm glad you got them working. Local Prefabs is a good place for individual POIs. The only thing you don't get that way is a name for the POI in the Danger Meter. If you wanted that you'd need to make a modlet for them so you could have a Config/Localization.txt file.

Thanks for the tip. I had already been playing with putting them in a mod so I could change frequency and required biomes with rwgmixer.xml. Now they all have nice display names too. :)

Ah cool. I sent you an example modlet, but you seem to already be past that.
