Game wont launch .json error

Hi! I am downloading the game on a different computer. launching the game from .exe or the xbox store results in the same error message. Unable to create file c:\ users\me\AppData\Roaming..\launchersettings.json

I have tried

1. reloading my entire computer x 3

2. repairing the game through game library

3. running as admin

4. changing the game location

5. reinstalling the game (ive lost count how many times)

6. rechecking system requirements

7. installing with my firewall off

I'm at a loss on what to do at this point and frustrated any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Often, when there is an error in any software when creating a file or editing a file that is located in the Users subfolders like that, it is due to not being on the same user account in Windows.  Basically a permissions problem in Windows.  Usually running as admin solves those issues, but not always.  Verify you are on the same user account that the error is for.  Beyond that, someone else will need to help.

thank you for your response! I have tried running in admin mode with no joy, but it is in my user folder.

Hi @Starfyre we're working on a fix (it should be out soon) for that. What you need to do is navigate to the 7Daystodie appdata folder in Roaming (%appdata%/7DaysToDie -- copy and paste that into your run box), and create a Logs folder).

So, this file structure should be there: Appdata/Roaming/7DaysToDie/Logs

After that, it should load fine.
