Game lagging from Fun Pimps screen onwards

Game was working fine one day, then the next when I launched it basically can't be played. Lag from the Fun Pimps splash screen onwards, each cursor move takes 1-2 seconds to register when hovering over/between options in the menu. When game eventually loads, appears to be rendering at around 1 frame every 2 seconds.

Have deleted game & re-installed, completely reset PC etc etc and still cannot get the game to work. 

Any suggestions? Issue started a couple of days after updating to experimental version.

FYI once the game launces/I spawn, FPS counter hovers around 0.6 and 0.5
