PC Game dead on Console

Hi people,

because i'm not really up to date i want to know, is 7DtD now officialy dead on console or is there still hope. I heard that FP let this game die for console, is this so?

TT had the rights to console and went bankrupt. The rights been sold but don't know to whom. TFP have said they are dealing with legal issues and can't talk about it. That is really long story very short and what we know.

So basically for the time it is dead on console but nothing official as of yet if console is done or not.

It isnآ’t official but yes, I am saying it is dead. It has been over 8 months since we heard from TFP regarding the console version. Well except a six second blip when talking about the next PC update. In six second clip TFP said they canآ’t talk about آ“itآ”, and at the end they suggested buying the PC version. The video is in news and announcements go watch it and judge for yourself.

The lines in the sand are drawn. I am just waiting for the see I told you that back on 8-2-19. And for the record again. I donآ’t think TFP lied to us. I think the آ“legalآ” issue is anything they say could possibly be used against them. So it is best to hide behind legal issues argument then tell us the update isnآ’t going to happen.

I hope I am wrong and have to hid my face in shame for being incorrect, and will apologize to the entire forum. Unfortunately zero communication pretty much tells the story.

It isn't impossible that TFP might have gotten the rights, but there is some other legal problem or simply difficult negotiations with IG or some other developer that has to finish the porting.

It also isn't impossible that someone else got the rights at the auction, but since TFP needs only part of that package they try to negotiate with the new owner for those parts, again prompting difficult negotiations.

TFP don't strike me as a developer who shies away from saying "X is not possible" or "We don't do X", they did this hundreds of times for topics on the PC side. For me it is the most probable explanation that they are not just playing for time but still have a foot in some door.

What i can read/see so far is that TFP says, it could be, it could be not, but we are not pressing much energy into console. This is what i unterstand.

I'm wondering why other dev's can make it possible to get back there rights and pronounce to release their games on console.

Dont missunterstand me, but i love 7DtD and it's a shame that this game is dying or at least it seems that TFP is putting much effort into pc than console because they have still the rights for pc.

 
I dug a hole in my backyard and put my hard copy in the ground in a tiny little coffin. But is it dead? I dont know, like all great zombie games it still could come back to life.

We don't even know for sure who has the rights or what the legal issues are about. For all we know they did get the rights back and they are dealing with some kind of other legal issues. It could be that someone else bought the rights and they are dealing with them. If someone else bought the console rights cool but we don't know what kind of console rights they bought. It could be a paper weight to them because without TFP giving them files to push forward they could be stuck and can't do anything themselves. Either way it might be something totally different.
