Funny Horde Nights

Wondering what folks funniest horde night stories are.

For me I was running an npc mod and on horde night an npc was nearby in the town centre when the horde came. Little did I know it was armed with a rocket launcher and kept firing at the most concentrated area of zombies, which was ofc wherever I was. I had to constantly relocate. Downtown was decimated by morning, a few poi's were sadly erased and the roads were like runway cratering. The npc did die eventually at 3.50 am, long after the damage was done.

On my second serious playthrough I though the attick of a farm was a good horde base. I already survived a horde night there on my first play, so I started to build a small melee service desk out of cobblestone instead of some buildingblocks as baricade and a door as "bridge" to get in and out.

And then I learned about pathing through the weakest point when they decided to break the woodedn roof and jump me...
End of Iron Man attempt number 1.

Definitely the things you don't see coming ^.^

I suspect unexpected pathing would form a lot of them, along with base collapses.

Not sure it counts as funny, but it was fun...

I was on a two player game and we did a day 7 horde night on top of one of the oil storage tanks. We didn't do anything to build up defenses on it other than to put some simple defenses at the top of the stairs that run up the side of the storage tank so they'd get slowed down while we killed them. Seemed easy enough for an early horde night and it worked fine to begin with. But then they broke the stairs and couldn't reach us anymore. That resulted in them attacking the sides of the storage tank and we couldn't see to kill them. They were able to break the sides in a stair step pattern, slowly getting higher as they worked to reach us. I was standing near the edge trying to see enough to kill some when suddenly a section of the roof where I was standing collapsed because they had reached high enough to break enough of the support under me. I fell to the ground in the middle of a LOT of zombies. I had to run and gun, trying to get away and stay alive. With the stairs completely destroyed by this time, there wasn't any way I could get up and I didn't have blocks with me to try and build my way up. Besides, there were so many around me, I didn't have time to try. So I ran around the street, shooting them and jumping all over the place. I finally managed to get on top of a bus and was able to catch my breath. In the end, I was able to survive on the street since it was close enough to the end of horde night and I was able to stay away and kill them long enough to run out of zombies. But it was an adrenaline rush and a lot of fun. I never expected the floor under me to collapse. :)

Its Kinda more fun when it goes wrong ^.^

Don't know how funny it is but the one I always remember was quite a few releases ago before they had the red sky and lightning to signal a zombie night. My base was in a POI that was mostly concrete that you can't find anymore. I had replaced the door with with an iron door and was making something to eat when the door began at disintegrate. I had forgotten that night was zombie night. Fortunately I had a 9 mm so I opened the door and killed him and then killed the other one waiting behind him. What saved me was the area had several fences that confused the zombies and instead of coming at me in mass they followed the fences and came at me more or less one-on-one.

When day time came around I had to repair my door and there was some holes in the wall.
