Floating items?

Playing on an unmodded co-op local game with 3 players, the host last night exclaimed "whoah, my bike is floating!" and he was "climbing" an invisible hill before the game dropped him back down to the road again.

Why do I bring this up? Because right after this we started noticing floating things like the bed and my bike pictured.
