PC Fire Axe vs Stone Axe resource gains

Do Fire Axes give you the same resources from something that a Stone Axe will?

I chopped 20 stumps in a row looking for honey with a fire axe and got none. So I made a stone axe and got 2 honey in my first 3 stumps.

Is this dumb luck, or do they give you different resources from breaking things down?

Think dumb luck, I have a Q5 axe with splitter mod and notice no difference from stone.  Wilderness PoIs are almost a honey pit if they have stumps around them.
