Featured Mod: 28 Alphas Later by Hells Janitor

Focusing on making the 7 Days to Die experience grittier and slowing down the pace of progression, 28 Alphas Later does a good job of keeping even veteran players on their toes. Countless changes to loot, biomes, buffs, and traders change gameplay in subtle yet powerful ways. For example, Zombies do not bleed which can quickly change the dynamic of combat, while traders not offering quests forces players to engage in a more free-roam experience.

The real star of the show, however is the Despair system, which adds another layer of depth to surviving the wastes of Navezgane. Being in the dark, staying hungry, getting injured will all affect your Despair level, while food, some Medical items, and your "wellness" can help manage your Despair. Many other factors also affect Despair, but we'll leave some things for you to discover on your own!

There's much more to the mod than can be explained in a post, so be sure to follow the links below to download or to get more info.

Good luck, Survivors.

A lot of Twitch streamers showcase 28 Alphas Later, and that includes the creator Hells Janitor. The feedback really helps to keep it balanced and polished.

With the despair system, and additional challenges, it can get grim in there and really brings out that sense of desperation. Jean's Gaming community know all about that.

It's good to see JoeSloeMoe's Learn By Doing Hybrid Action Skills being used for the progression system. JoeSloeMoe put so much time into that, and ensured a version was available that was server side only dedi server compliant, since progression that triggers in SP doesn't always work out in a dedi.

28 Alphas Later is also on the Mod Launcher which is an added bonus for players who rotate their play throughs from that launch method.
