Favorite activity? (Late Game)

Over time, once you've become a lot stronger and death isn't really a big fear of yours, what has become one of your favorite things to do? Such as rebuilding destroyed houses. Or just hunting zeds down. I like to clear POIs and then break everything inside.

What do you mean break everything inside? Vandalism or collecting resources or just releasing rage?

Goals usually come with a story, but we don't have one yet. Until we have a story, we have to set ourselves a goal.

My current end game goal is to be firmly setup in the Wasteland with a solid base to kill high level Zeds for XP.

Once I have enough XP, I max out my perks of choice and start exploring the game world.

Being on console only with no mods limits me from making the game more interesting than that.

There's a voxel game called FortressCraft Evolved (it's blocky like Minecraft) that's in several ways similar to 7D2D (it has hordes that spawn when you have too much activity that attack you, for example) that doesn't really have a story, but does have an endgame goal. You have to build a big complex structure that requires a lot of advanced resources to build, then charge it with a bunch of power. Doing this causes huge hordes of enemies to spawn that specifically target this endgame structure, and you have to protect it until it's done charging.

That's kinda what my inspiration was for my earlier idea (though I didn't directly think of FortressCraft) about having a big endgame structure that you had to build to somehow escape the zombies. It's not really tied to any sort of story, and would be a nice late game challenge. You could even make it so that some of the components required (or maybe schematics for them?) could only be found in T6 quests in the Wasteland or something, so there was a POI looting aspect required.

I've not gotten there a lot when I play solo. My solo games usually get overcome by real life commitments or the desire to playtest some new POIs. I really should find a nice friendly near-Vanilla server to play on when I can.

Same here, but with my mods. Either adjusting them based on what I seen happen in my recent gameplay or in the process of adding a new one to the collection.

If I do make it late game, I tend to start ramping up frequency of BM hordes to increase the challenge until they finally kill me.

New late game activity for me is watching my wife go into one of the new tier 5 POIs and obliterated by a huge group of zombies all because she went in unprepared lol
