Fantastic Game but choice of 'paid for' maps please?

Would it be possible for the team to make other maps like Navezgane, pre-made, balanced, different size maps, for a small charge.  My friends and I have played through Navezgane 5 times, and have recently tried the random gen ones, but the connecting roads did not match up to buildings, towns etc, and any increase in map size seemed to just add open terrain.

Having asked other players, we all agreed we would be willing to pay for more official  choices of ready made maps like Navezgane.

Did you generate those maps or did you try the pregenerated maps like PREGEN6k and PREGEN8k ? The latter are selected random gen maps so they have a balanced mix of towns and open terrain.

If you want more you can change parameters before generating, select "advanced generation" when generating a new world. There you can increase size and number of towns.

Finally there is a seed thread here in the forum where people post their favourite seeds for random gen.

Maybe there will be another handcrafted map in an addon for 7d2d years from now, but I can't imagine them investing time for one at the moment. Navezgane has had years of work in it and they surely don't want to go below their usual standards on a new map.

I just generated a map, thinking we were ready for a change :).  We did try a pre-generated map made by a player, but the poi tiles were sometimes higher, or lower than the ground around them, and also the roads didn't make any sense, and would often take you up terrain that was too steep for vehicles. On reflection, could this have been because the map version was different?   

My comment, asking if they could make a selection of maps that we could buy, I thought might be a way for the team to make a bit of money, but I have no idea how difficult it would be to make new maps. I can see other players making maps, and thought perhaps, as the teams would be 'pro' at it, they could make them fairly easily.

About "pointless roads" : it will be fixed in next alpha so roads will have more sense because RWG will have changes . Btw in real live there is a lot  pointless roads XD damn honestly - 7dtd roads looks have more sens that roads near my city

 
I would love to be able to create a hand made custom map.  No idea how to go about it but that kind of thing turns my dials.

There should be tutorials in mod section on how to do this. If I recall correctly.

 
I hope to make some once the game is out of alpha. I'm sure a lot of people have the same thing in mind. It's not really worth doing at the moment though because some unforeseen change could erase months of work.

 
The above comments are very encouraging. I too, might be tempted to devote some serious time to making a hand made custom map. Perhaps it is time to have a look at those tutorials!
