Extraction Mission / Reverse Infestation

Normally you fight your way through a POI to reach the loot at the end and then you're done. How about a mission where it's only once you get to the loot and open it that the whole thing kicks off? The buried supply missions trigger zombies once you find the loot, so this is similar; except it becomes a reverse infestation mission where it's only on the way OUT that the zombies really start spawning and you have to fight your way out. Every intersection becomes a mini horde event with zombies coming from every direction.

You forgot one small detail. Namely, setting up the game. We set the loss at death to "nothing". We grab the loot and teleport to the sleeping bag/bed.

You can just as simply tower up or pickaxe your way right into the treasure room, grab the loot and go if you want to. Nothing would stop you just digging your way out in this case, either. But, for my part, I really enjoy the POIs and I've really enjoyed the Infestation missions especially. Obviously there would be a "clear zombies" objective that would apply right up until you killed every last zombie on the way out.

It's always a disappointment when a streamer is doing a big POI and they skip past all the good stuff.

There is also the problem where most POI aren't designed in a way that would make leaving the loot room and just exiting the POI very difficult.  Many loot rooms are on roofs or near open windows, etc.  Of course, they can choose which quest types each POI can have and those could be limited to specific POI, but I'm not sure that they have any way to prevent buttons or switches from working and POI with a loot room not already near an easy exit have a way to easily unlock your exit path.  And if those didn't work, you'd see a lot of people saying it's bugged even though it wasn't.  Add in that you can just break a hole and then do the loot and it just defeats the quest type.  You would have to have some new method of creating a "lockdown" where extra walls or gates or whatever drop down after you reach the loot room so you can't escape even if you already broke holes.  That seems like a lot of work.  It could be interesting, but as Suxar said, even if you fixed the escape issue, you can still just die if you have drop on death set to nothing and then it's still just a simple quest if you don't mind dying.

Sometimes I do just that. If I know exactly where the loot is and I don't want trash, then this is a pretty good option.

Before magazines appeared, I didn't take on missions at all. Except for the PvE server, since everything there was robbed before you and the location needs to be updated. Nowadays I take missions mainly for the magazine set.
