Epic Online Services Login error - First time seeing this and I am logged into the Epic store already

Weird thing is I am LITERALLY logged into Epic store right now because I checked out what the free game was today. I have never seen this error. Does this actually stop online play? This is new to me. I launch 7D2D through steam, I didn't even realize it checked Epic store

EOS isn't the same as the Epic Store.  It's used primarily to create user IDs that work across platforms.  It goes down once in a while and you'll have to wait for it to come back online or else play offline while you wait.  Your log would show you the actual error message, which would give an idea of whether it's a problem on your end or theirs.

This will happen a lot if your system clock is not matched to internet time.

It also happens if you did not exclude the client from security software.
