Epic online service login error

I bought the game on steam years ago.

Played just fine until today when launching the game it says:

Epic online service login
It says could not initialize epic online services.
unknown issue please report on forums.

I get option to try again, play offline, or exit.

What is going on here?

Another long time player here, 1100+ hours. Never had any issues, am getting the same error. 

I have tried rebooting pc, validating game files, rebooting again, uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling. 

So far nothing has worked. 

Is this an issue with the epic services or is there a solution i havent found?

Most likely an issue with your connection to EoS.

Common fixes are flushing DNS or clearing your IP Stack. Sometimes you may need to fully reset both modem/router and computer by powering them down fully for about five minutes to pick up a new connection and routing tables from your ISP.
