PC Environment resets

Recently had multiple resets on environment flowering game disconnection upon reentry game a 16 by 32 cross reset across our base wiping out 90% of materials and base Ben level 100 on Day 70 me and the other players decided to push forward five minutes later another game lag out Rebooted upon entering game everything that was left was reset what if anything is being done to correct this issue to spend hours of time chilling with the environment creating a safe place to store materials to continue to play the the game and was in once reset in less than 30 minutes everything you work for over a couple of weeks of playing together is gone how does that justify continuing to play this game and not moving on to a different game such as State of Decay 2 or any other zombie type game waiting to hear any type of response thank you

Hi John,

I am sorry to hear your save was hit by what is known as the MD5 error. All information on this error can be found here: https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?50175-Known-Issue-Terrain-Rewriting-(MD5-Issue) - If you are playing on XB1 there is a workaround at the end of the first post that may be beneficial to you.

As the post linked above states, the MD5 error has multiple triggers, thanks to the information shared by the community and work the team has done the majority of the triggers have been patched in recent updates and the team continues to work on the remaining ones. I do not have an estimated timeline for a fix but the team has assured they are not giving up.

Last week the team announced they are currently upgrading the game engine to Unity 2017 https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?84520-06-06-Message-from-the-Team - this update should help the team in their effort to fix the more persistent bugs in game. While the update is still scheduled for later in the year, I recommend trying the workaround I mentioned above to help avoid MD5 errors after a crash. A lot of players say this has worked for them. If you are playing on PS4 I recommend regularly backing up to an external USB.

Other players have also noted that their MD5s are less severe if they do not keep all of the crafting stations and storage together, as MD5s seem to focus on them lately. Player Ignoringmywife1 mentioned recently that a friend of theirs has avoided digging withing a few blocks of their base and that has stopped MD5s for them.

I understand how frustrating and disheartening this issues are for players, but the team are continuing to work on fixes. Some players have decided to take a break until the patch is released, which again, I completely understand.

If you have any further questions about these crashes, MD5 errors or anything else I will do my best to answer them for you.

Clare
