editing xml files on pc for crossplay?

Can we edit xml files on pc and our crossplay ps5 friends can join in on those servers? or is that the dedicated server update which allows that ability? Ive been trying to set up my pc with some basic edits to xml files but then it doesn't show up in the server list on ps5 but it does however show that a server is there in the top of the screen but its invisible in the list if that makes sense. Anyone have any luck with this or could be a bug? thanks....

So I guess from what I understand eac "easy anti cheat" is enabled on console to play crossplay which means you cant edit xml files or use server side only mods? So EAC cant be turned off apparently? so were stuck with vanilla settings only for crossplay?

For the moment, yes. Modding or even changing config files is an area both microsoft and sony have strong opinions about... so it's a back and forth thing.
