Does anyone know where the ambient biome sound files are located?

I want to make a mod to replace the godawful birdsong ambient track for the forest biome but there's no sound folder, only a music folder with the chopped up bits of tracks for the dynamic music. Does anyone know anything about how sound and music is handled in this game?

 
I did notice a few bird sound loops in the extracted data.unity3d file, under; ExportedProject\Assets\Resources\sounds\ambient_loops

The sounds folder also has various mixer and manager prefab files, but I have never messed with them to find out how they work, may be somewhere to start though?

Come to think of it, I am not sure how you would recompile or otherwise tell the game to use a different file in place of something in the packaged unity3d files, not something I have ever tried to do, would be interested if anyone does knows how this would work though.
