Do you get fall damage on hay bales now?

I haven't used it for a while but mentioned it to someone in a stream and when they tried it they broke their leg. They placed hay bales down and had bottom rung of ladder removed but they still broke their leg. They said after that someone else had mentioned that you took damage now in the new update. Is this true?

Yeah, they nerfed the fall/damage buff for bales.

I have seen a mod to put it back in, but to me thats an easy xml edit.

I worked on a ranch as a kid and I can tell you. Hay bales are not that soft.

So anyone tells you they fell 30-40 foot and didn't break something... they lie.

Yes, this was part of the Hatch exploit fix.

It wasn't related to hatches at all. Fall damage reduction of blocks became granular and tied in with abilities and perks.
