Directional audio

Hi folks !

I'm playing on a PC (v 1.0, Windows) with a headset, and I don't have directional audio, is it possible to activate it? I can't tell where the zombies are coming from...

I checked the options, I can activate spatial sound with Mumble, but it seems it's only for other players (I don't need it because I'm only playing with a friend on Discord).

I've searched the internet but still haven't found a solution.... Any ideas?

According to this topic : https://www.reddit.com/r/7daystodie/comments/1fmuw8y/spacial_audio_for_zombies/

A guy told that he does have directional audio, and an other told that he never had directional sound... So it seems possible, but how can we enable it ??

I don't have an external audio card or something else, I directly plug my jack headphone to the motherboard and that's all...

It isn't a setting, at least that I've ever seen.  Directional audio is 1) limited to horizontal only, and 2) very minimal so you have to really pay attention to notice it.  Depending on your headphones, you may not be able to notice it.

Side note: Windows (at least some versions; not sure about all) lets you set up headphone/speaker audio is certain ways, including how directional audio can work.

Did you managed to solve your audio problem?

I have stumbled on a similar problem with directional audio, Logitech GX635 headphones started to sound like MONO. No stereo, no directional, despite they were detected as 7.1 type. Reinstalling dirvers, Logitech Ghub software - no luck.

Problem occurs everywhere, not only in 7DtD, even on widnows headphones configuration panel all channels sounded like MONO. It was no hardware issue but software related, cause on the same PC but logged as a different user on windows, everything was good.

Finally, I have found a solution, problem was in a windows settings.

SETTINGS -> EASE OF ACCESS -> SOUNDS -> "Turn mono sound" ON/OFF

I do not know how does this option enabled itself but that did the trick :)

Hey !

It solved the problem... So it was simply a bad setting of Windows.......... hahaha, too stupid !

Thank you very much !!!!! :D
