Dedicated server does not load. Installed exactly as the guide says.

After installing everything exactly as the guide says, I ran the .bat file and went through the prompts.  I cannot see anything running in task manager and I cannot connect to the server from my other computer.  Any and all help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

"Starting the Server


To host a server just edit the startdedicated.bat file and the serverconfig.xml using TextPad or notepad++. You shouldn't need to edit the startdedicated.bat. In the batch file you will see the following text:

 ...could not be less clear if it was intentionally written to be. Do I edit it or do I not need to edit the batch file? If I don't need to edit it, why is this in here? In any case, how is the contents of the file I do not need to edit anything but confusing in the context of a how to guide? Is a person supposed to double click on the .bat file? Right click and run? Either of those suggestions would be more useful than describing the file and giving mixed advice on whether or not it should be edited or even why one might want to edit it. Long story short, I'm lost and need help, and that guide is not it. Thank you.

 
I'm not sure which guide you're referring to, it may be out of date, not sure. Generally, if you set the server machine's internal IP to a static one, forward ports: 26900 TCP, 26900 - 26902 UDP, add firewall/antivirus exclusions to the server install folder and save data folder, then run the startdedicated.bat file, it should be running and you should have the server console window pop up, looks like this image.png

You can configure it via the serverconfig.xml

Log files should be generated in the 7DaysToDie_Data folder for the server

Thank you for the response. Mine does not open that. After running the .bat file, the command window just closes. I can see from the log that there are a lot of errors. I just don't know where to start on how to fix it.  I don't know how to put the log file somewhere you could see all of it. So, this is the first 79 lines of it.
